After your purchase you go through a short onboarding process. Below you can see the three steps to get your website ready.
After payment you go through a short onboarding process. You first enter your website title (you can always change this later), then your domain name and contact email. Finally you confirm that you will set up the DNS records.
Enter your existing domain name without http:// or https://. For example: mywebsite.com. Your domain name is automatically normalized (www. and protocol are removed). You will receive a notification if anything was corrected.
So your domain points to our server, you need to create two A-records (or modify existing ones) at your domain registrar. Your existing email (MX records) will continue to work — only A-records are modified.
| Type | Name | Value | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | @ | Automatic / 3600 | |
| A | www | Automatic / 3600 |
The @ record stands for your root domain (e.g. mywebsite.com). The www record handles visitors typing www.mywebsite.com.
As soon as the A-records are active, your website will automatically become available. This usually takes 5-15 minutes, but can take up to 24-48 hours depending on your registrar. During this waiting period, your website may be temporarily unreachable.
Important: Only change the A-records. Leave your MX records (email) and other records untouched, so your email will keep working normally.
Enter the email address where you want to receive messages from your contact form and bookings. This is the address where customer messages will be sent.
Pro and Premium only: Setting a contact email address is available for Pro and Premium subscribers. With a Starter subscription this step does not apply.
